About the President of Mirage Sound
Rich performs at the 2006 Cinco
de Mayo Days at Applebee's in east Mesa
Rich .Kirchner has enjoyed doing anything to make people smile. He started recording music when he was 5 years old on an old reel-to-reel tape recorder. Not quite the class clown, he did crave attention throughout school.
His first "gigs" were for friends' weddings. They told him that he had a gift for entertaining. Soon after, Rich was invited to play at Malarkey's in Phoenix. Being a hot nightclub, and Rich being so young, it was a frightening experience, but all had a great time. That was just the boost that he needed. He's been entertaining ever since!
SSGT Rich.Kirchner - Commander of the 107th
ACS Color Guard
Rich commanded the 107th Air Control Squadron Color Guard during his military career in the Air National Guard. In that assignment, he performed for countless parades and professional ballgames, including the first-ever Arizona Diamondbacks game at Bank One Ballpark! After dozens of Arizona Cardinals Games, the Department of Defense directed him to command the Color Guard at Superbowl XXX in 1996! 73,000 fans in attendance... NO PROBLEM FOR RICH!!! He has no problems performing in front of crowds! Rich retired from the military in 2001, and revived his patriotism with the American Legion. Post 91 in Chandler was shocked when he told them they were to perform at an Arizona Cardinals game! So much for the Legion being "old fogies"!
Rich is a volunteer for Sun Sounds of Arizona, a reading service for blind, and reading-impaired folks. He produces a weekly show about NASA, America's Space Program. It's called The Space Program. He has interviewed fifteen astronauts, including two that have walked on the moon! His moment of fame was when he interviewed the astronauts onboard the International Space Station in July of 2005!!! WOW!!! You can listen to his show every Sunday at 11:00 AM on Sun Sounds of Arizona.
